About Me	I was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta in and around Tutwiler by my parents, Naida Gresham Manning and Jesse Keith Pearson, Sr., who at birth was named James K. Vardaman Pearson. I attended Walnut Elementary (1st-5th), Tutwiler (6th), West Tallahatchie (7-12), and Mississippi College which was followed by at least 100 hrs. more credits at colleges in CA. I taught school in Jackson, Miss., from 1965-67; Bakersfield, CA, 1967-68; Southaven, Miss., 1968-69; LAUSD in San Pedro and Carson, CA, 1969-2008. English was my subject. The last year I ran a computer lab and the four years prior to that I was the SIS Coordinator. I taught approximately 8000 students and worked with and influenced many others. It was a rewarding experience for which I am grateful. Along with teaching I have been a church musician for at least 25 years. I can't sing any more, but I can play the piano and organ. I just wish I were more talented; however, God has blessed me with talent that I can use to praise Him. thus I am blessed. Darrell and I have been married for 41 years (July 27, 1968). We have two children: Darrell "Lee" Cooper, Jr., 11/01/77 and Candace Manning-Pearson Cooper Harmon 04/25/81. Lee has one son, Christian, born 08/28/95, and Candace and Corey have two sons--Garrett born 04/05/05 and Thomas 09/18/07. One more thing to add: Lee and Gia are expecting a baby in late August 2010. They want a girl. New info-July 3, 2010: It's a boy! We went on June 23 and viewed a 3-D ultra sound and have seen Chase Alexander Cooper, a beautiful active baby. Looking forward to his birth... More to add now--Chase was born on August 23, 2010. Darrell and I are official babysitters on M-Th from around 6:45 a.m. to 4:30-6:00 p.m. Candace comes over and helps out, and Candace and I pretty much do all our shopping at night. We are happy that Target is open to 10:00 p.m., for it is our favorite place to go and spend money. Lee is off on Friday, so he and I go to Costco's for the big spend on Friday.
