Sheila served in the North Carolina Army National Guard as a full-time technician until entering active duty and being stationed in Washington DC. Afterwards, she was transferred to Montgomery, Alabama where she served as the State Family Program Coordinator for the Alabama Army/Air National Guard until her retirement in 2004. Her military service extended over 25 years and her rank upon retirement was Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4). She currently resides in Montgomery, Alabama.

While there I spent 6 weeks training in Germany as the (G-2) or S-2 ,Military Intelligence Officer's Driver,HQ Platoon(1977) and in April 1978 I was reasigned to duty in Germany and after 1 year I was discharged with an honorable discharge, 1979.
