About Me	I and my family have always been outdoor oriented, and remain so. I met my wife, Jackie, in the climbing club at Utah State University and we married in 1971. My interests have included rock climbing, hunting, fishing, white water rafting, flying, camping, backpacking, SCUBA diving, viticulture and wine making, and I am still active in skiing. Since retiring as a fisheries biologist in Portland OR I worked several seasons as a ski instructor at Mt. Hood Meadows. Jackie also continues to ski, and both kids are expert skiers, although they are currently fully occupied in their careers with little time to ski. Both are working in the healthcare field: Val is an occupational therapist in Seattle and Mike manages several residence homes for mentally handicapped adults in Portland. Both graduated from Oregon State University, and Val has an MS from University of Puget Sound. Val is married, while Mike is not. No grandkids yet.
