| About Me | I attended the Memphis Academy of Art for 2 years, majoring in commercial art after graduating from White Station in 1961. I met my husband Tom on a double date to an art school party. He was attending Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. We married after dating 1 1/2 years. After Tom graduated we spent two years in Minot, ND, while he served in the Air Force as an Optometrist. I did the cover for the officers wives club magazine each month and was director of the rec. center art program on base. We moved to Broken Arrow, OK and Tom opened his office. Broken Arrow was quite small in 1968 with 11,000 people. Our town is right next to Tulsa and now has a population of 90,000. We have two children. A boy and girl. Our daughter has two children, a boy, 16 and girl 12. They live on a cattle ranch outside Tulsa. Our son and his wife have a year old daughter and they live in Dallas. After our son graduated from OSU and was going to OU for graduate school, I went back to school and got my Associate Degree from OSU/ Okmulgee in Graphic Design. I went to work for a publishing company and designed covers and inside art for a number of magazines. In 2003 I went back to school full time to OSU/Stillwater by riding the commuter bus from Tulsa/OSU to Stillwater. I finally finished my BA after two more years and graduated in 2005. AT LAST!!! Since graduation I am a full time potter with a studio at home. I love working in clay and enjoy selling my work at regional art shows. I mostly work on the wheel and hand build onto the wheel thrown designs. I am also doing freelance graphic work. I just finished a book cover and also the cover for Tulsa Ski Club's annual directory. Showing my horse, Dude is my favorite hobby. I keep him here on our acreage and take him to many shows from April to November. Luckily Tulsa has a wonderful facility for horse shows, so most of the big national shows are here and I don't have to haul that far. I will be receiving the award for Pinto Horse of the Year on March 20, 2010 in Oklahoma City at the Pinto Horse national convention. This is a national award and i am so proud of Dude for being such a good boy this past year. I show at the Pinto and Palomino World shows shows, as well as many regional shows. Tom and i will be celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary in June.
