| Favorite School Memory | Not sure if it's my favorite memory or not, but it was a special opportunity for me to represent Wayland in presenting a campaigning and soon to be Vice President Hubert Humphrey with a community gift of a 100-year-old cowbell on the steps of the old high school. | About Me | After graduating from Bible college in Grand Rapids (GRSBM..now folded into Cornerstone University) in '69 I began being a full time pastor in Seattle and two other churches in the northwest for several years. After that I resigned being a pastor to do more independent and self-supported ministry of various kinds throughout the rest of my years, which I'm still doing and pursuing. Types of work and business I've done since resigning 30+ years ago as a full time pastor are way too many to list here, but they include finance and investments, business and real estate development projects, log home building, various internet ventures, inventing a few things, owning and operating a private Christian camp and retreat center north of Seattle, and later operating a Montana guest ranch near Glacier Park, and then owning a Montana town. I married my wonderful wife Karen right after Bible college in '69 and soon we had 4 great kids within 7 years. Later we welcomed 4 grandsons, one of whom I've been raising since birth (now 13 years old). He's the son of my disabled daughter. Karen and I went on to have countless exciting and pretty varied and unique life experiences together until she died in '06 of breast cancer that returned after disappearing for 20 years. I miss her more than I can say. A year and ahalf later I remarried, but sadly that relationship only lasted a year. I lived in Montana for 12 years after my 27 years in and around Seattle. In late '08 I left Montana and have been in Houston, Te...(read more) |
