| About Me | Wow, life is flying by. I've been married almost 39 years, Matt & I have 4 beautiful daughters, 3 of whom are married. We put all 4 through college, one is a cancer research Doctor, another a criminal justice major working as a juvenile corrections officer, a political science, womens studies major still trying to find a job in that field, but working as a Health Unit Coordinator in a hospital and the youngest worked with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and moved to Lynchburg and is working to put her husband through Seminary. All this inspite of of Matt breaking his neck playing rugby in 1991. He is still paralized from the shoulders down, went back to college to get anothe Masters Degree so he could continue to teach after his injury. He went from Phys.Ed. K-12 to middleschool health, where he taught and coached wrestling for another 9 years. All this is possible with part time nursing, but I am his main caregiver, with Matt still volunteering as a wrestling coach and Health Teacher at a private school, I still am running to tournaments on Saturdays with him to coach. I love it, the lightweights are my favorites and the smile on Matt's face when the listen and do something right and run over to him and pat him on his hand makes it all worthwhile. I also continue to work 4 days a week as an Adm. Assistant for a Green Sustainable Real Estate Developer, which I love, it keeps me sane thinking about something other than medical. IFor years I volunteered with an organization that helped women in pregnancy crisis. and now Matt and work with spinal cord victims helping them with everyday life.
