| About Me | I am a retired High School teacher and coach in Hillsboro Oregon. My wife, Bonnie, and I travel extensively around the world enjoying life to the fullest as we continue the journey of achieving our "bucket list". After attending Sunset Valley Grade School for eight years, I graduated from Sunset High School, in Beaverton Oregon, in 1964. I was a three sport athlete, an all-conference basketball player and my schools Student Body Treasurer. I sang with the Youth for Christ Continental Choir for one season. I was very active at Linfield College having lettered 11 times in four varsity sports. I was fortunate to be a pitcher on the National Championship baseball team in 1966. That team is enshrined in the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame. I met my wife, Bonnie, while attending college. After earning my bachelors and masters degrees in education at Linfield, I taught 30 years at Hillsboro High School. I also coached baseball and basketball for 22 years. I was the head basketball coach for 10 years and coached 35 baseball seasons and led the Hillsboro American Legion baseball program. My wife and I owned and operated Ten Star Hoop Camp at Pacific University for seven summers. After my coaching career, Bonnie and I were the Hillsboro district computer trainers for the school district for eight years. For 38 years we owned and operated a commercial driving school called Tom's Driving Academy. I have been retired for 14 years and have written two books and over 30 computer manuals. We are involved in our church and travel to Biblical lands as a study group. We have travelled to 54 countries climaxed by a mission stay in western India. In 2009 we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. We have four grown children. Our daughter, Lori, lives with her family in Aloha Oregon and our youngest son, Mark, lives in Hillsboro with his family. Our other son, Eric, lives with his new bride, Inka, on beautiful Kauai in Hawaii. They have a daughter, Kailana 2. Darryl lives in Condon, Oregon.
