About Me	I lived in Japan for about two years studying at university there. I worked for a number of decades as a Japanese language tour guide, escort and interpreter. I still keep up with my languages, especially Japanese and French and am teaching myself Italian. I emceed the Vancouver AIDS Candlelight Memorial & Vigil for 17 years receiving an AccolAIDS Award for community service a few years back. Currently I work as a house history researcher and have researched over 700 houses in Vancouver and New Westminster. I received a 2009 Vancouver Historical Society Award of Merit for this work. I donate time as a heritage activist. I served on the Board of Heritage Vancouver Society and was Chair of the Board of the Friends of the Vancouver City Archives. For years I have blogged on Vancouver history and heritage issues. In 2014 I moved to live in a hill town called Casperia which is an hour's drive northeast of Rome.
