| About Me | 21-yrs US Navy Active. 28 more years as a civilian contractor for USN and USMC, under a signed World-Wide Mobility as condition of employment. Embedded in several USMC units overseas in "hot spots" world-wide. Served at-sea as a civilian on every single Air-Capable ship in the US Navy inventory as of 2004. After that, left navy behind and worked for USMC exclusively. Also has a brief stint working for the US Bureau of Reclamation, as a calibration tech at a LARGE Desalination Plant in Yuma, Arizona. Retired from all gainful employment July 2022; a year after that I wondered "Why am I still BAKING MY BRAINS OUT in YUMA AZ? So moved to Kingman Arizona; moved specifically for the Mosque in town (Yuma didn't have one). Soon after I delighted to know that instead of keeping the A/C running 24/7 for 9-months of the year, in AUGUST in Kingman (even though it is 102 in the day) as soon as the sun goes behind Cerbat Mountain, you can turn off the A/C and get fresh 60-degree air all night. Further unexpected joys about Kingman; small town 35K people, all roads in town are either 25-Mph or 35-Mph (nice slow pace of life), has a great Mayo Clinic Hospital in town, plenty of restauraunts and shipping in the small town (it's the Mohave County Seat, so everyone drops in here to do business, Open-Range cattle behind my house, Kingman has 4-Seasons (but not like in Michigan with all the snow and ice) at 3,500' Kingman seldom gets snow on the ground but it gets in the 20's at night in winter (sunny and 40-50 in the day) - we can drive 12-minutes (at 35-Mph) up Hualapai Mountain at 8,500-feet anytime we want to play in snow (or toss the cat in it - he loves it!). Other likes; probably the least expensive place in AZ (maybe in USA) to buy a NEW Construction 3-BR 2-BA 1-Car Garage on a large lot with room to park an RV and pontoon boat and still have 6-8 fruit trees out back, for $215K today (NOV 2025). Gateway to Arizona Snow-Bowl, Lake Havasu, Topok Marsh, Lake Mead, Grand Canyon National Park, Kaibab National Forest, Havasupai Falls, several wild-animal parks, and several Native-American Reservations.
