| About Me | 48 years Commercial Imaging Biography of Arthur Caudy as of June 2010 Art has been involved with Commercial Imaging and graphics since 1961. Art holds a degree in Industrial Photography and Graphic Reproduction from Ferris State University. He was a US Navy Photographer during the Viet Nam Conflict, and is a Charter Member of the National Association of Navy Photography. In 1994 was promoted to Honorary Photographers Mate Chief. In 1995 Art successfully completed an accelerated Management Program at Columbia University in New York. As a consultant to Polaroid Art was the lighting specialist for the Original Photography done by Polaroid in the Sistine Chapel in Rome of the Transition of the Raphael. He also was the lighting consultant for lighting techniques use by the 20 X 24 inch large Format Polaroid Cameras. Art came to Polaroid in 1983 as a Representative and in 1986 was put on special assignment as an Applications Manager. For 19 years Art was tuned into the special needs of all Polaroid commercial and industrial customers. He was a primary photographic trainer for all forms of film base, digital, and electronic imaging technology. He has written several training programs for entry level and commercial imaging customers including law enforcement. The applications vary from Law Enforcement photography to Business presentations. He was on the original team that published the Polaroid Application Training Manual that teaches New Hire Polaroid employees a wide variety of photographic techniques. Most recently Art photographed the cover of the books “Thirty Years in the Trenches” and “It Ant Pretty but It’s real” published by John Drummond Chicago TV2 News Anchor. The book details Chicago Syndicated Crime bosses for over thirty years. Another project took Art to the University of Iowa where he scanned 125 original glass plate negatives with a Polaroid Scanner for a book entitled “Picturing Utopia” a unique documentary of a religious utopia of turn of the century photographers by Abigail M. Foerstner. On several occasions Art actually invented or create a special tools for Polaroid customers to use in a specific application.
