About Me	I am a 70 year old attorney. I am bilingual and tend to speak Spanish at home with my wife, Sylvia. My father was a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force. We were "middle" (ie. working) class. I was born in the Naval Hospital at Boston Navy Yard and was raised in Massachusetts,Texas, Colorado, Texas, Massachusetts, The Philippine Islands, West Virginia and France (in that order). My career as an Air Force Brat ended when I graduated from West Virginia State University in 1962. I visited my parents in France the following year but never actually lived there. If I'd had my druthers, I'd have stayed in San Antonio and grown up there. I hated the Air Force with every fiber of my being for bouncing me around the world like a piece of baggage and for being fascistic and authoritarian. I have lived in New York City since 1965 and have no plans to relocate. Most of my family lives in Dallas. I have a Masters Degree in History from Hunter College and a law degree from New York Law School. I've never had a religion. Mother was a life long atheist. Dad was a lapsed Catholic. I was pushed into catechism classes when I was eight, but survived the experience unscathed. I am the Vice President of The Secular Humanist Society of New York and have served on its Board for several years. I am also a long time member of the Socialist Party USA. We are a multi-tendency movement. I tend to call myself a Libertarian Marxist. By American standards, I am a howling radical. By the standards of the civilized world, I am an ordinary, left leaning Social Democrat. ...(read more)
