About Me	I spent the 1st 2 years after graduation at Humboldt State taking classes in general biology before transferring to SF State. I spent the next 4 years at SF State, the last 2 years of which were in Classics before graduating in 1975. I spent the next 5 years in San Francisco, working at odd jobs for the SF Giants and making stained glass windows in the Haight Ashbury district before before getting it together and applying for med school at Univ of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. Talk about culture shock!!! I learned pretty quickly how to dress for ice cold Maine winters. It was tough but I made it and got my internship in Cranston, RI, where I met my future wife Rosalyn, an ICU nurse. We married in 1983 and moved to Lancaster, PA where I did my Family Practice residency in '85-'86, then served 4 years in the Indian Health Service in Ardmore, OK to pay back Uncle Sam for putting me through med school. I had a job offer in Portland, OR but chose to move to RI because she was homesick for New England... I must have been crazy but nonetheless hung out the shingle and have been here since. Currently, I'm Chief of the FP department and will probably transition to either a teaching position with the local hospital or move to a different state now that our 2 kids (Doug, Jr. and Jill) have grown up. We spend our winters in New Hampshire skiing and , since we both ride, motorcycling in the summer. I've done a bunch of other stuff, but that's for a different time.
