| About Me | I attended the University of Iowa for one year, then transfered to the University of South Dakota. I taught elementary school at the Maple Valley Community School for four years. I stayed home for a few years with our girls. In 1971 we became involved in the florist industry at the Mapleton Greenhouse and the Onawa Florist. In 1979 we separated company with our florist business partners and moved to Onawa where we lived in the Murphy House for ten years as caretakers. We decorated the house at Christmas in Victorian fashion and held tours. I coordinated and taught gifted students at West Monona in Onawa for 24 years retiring in 2005.
