| About Me | The last 20+ years: After SHS I went to Savannah Tech for 4 years and ended up as a journeyman machinist at Union Camp for 29 years. During that time I married and we had a boy and girl. Michael is 38 and married and still living in Savannah. Laura is 36 and living in Corona, CA. She gave me my first grandchild 2 years ago, a beautiful granddaughter named Michelle. While I was at Union Camp I also manager to put in 21 years in the Ga Air National Guard, retiring in 1991. A couple of years before retiring from the Guards I got into obedience training for dogs and had a lot of success. 5 national awards and the #1 Border Collie in the country one year, then becoming an AKC judge and a judge and field representive for the United Kennel Club. After 15 years of working a "regular job" during the week and over 40 weekends a year doing the dog thing, I stepped back when I realized my hobby/sport had consumed my life. When International Paper bought Union Camp, I retired with 29 years and headed north to a very different type of machining industry, all high tech, all cnc type of machines, etc. It's been fun, to say the least. I worked for a company the built the Abicore Mechanical Human Heart, that continues to be tested. Now I work for Idex Health and Science, making medical devices. I love going to work everyday. I live on Revere Beach, a couple of miles north of Boston with my wife. We were married in March of 2012. We were able to buy a condo on the beach during the real estate downturn and enjoy the New England summer (all 8 weeks of it) on the beach. We are a block from the end of the subway line so going into the city is quick and easy. For enjoyment these days we go to Philly a lot for baseball games and spend other weekends working on our farm outside of Pitt. We also hunt and photograph covered bridges and lighthouses in the time we have left. We also find a place to attend mass every weekend, wherever we are. I've been into photography for years.
