About Me	I married Don Hall during college and one son and another on the way when I graduated from the U of MN. After completing my degree in Occupational Therapy, I set up an O.T. and activity program in a nursing home in Hasitngs, then moved to Redwood Falls where I worked as Program Director at a home for 150 men with retardation, then moved back to Hastings, and worked for two years in Psychiatry at the Minneapolis V.A. Hospital. In 1971 we moved to Star Prairie, Wi on 5 acres on the Apple River. I began working at the St Croix County Hospital which was a long term facility for folks with chronic mental illness, and also worked on the acute psych unit. In 1974, I was asked to set up community based programs for people with developmental disabilities and started a sheltered workshop, adult day service and a birth to three program. I worked for the county for 29 years and the programs grew from a $45000 budget to $12,000,000 as my role expanded to services for elderly and physically disabled and adult protection and administered state and fed money for group homes, sheltered apartments, supportive home care, home modifications, etc. In 1998, I had a run-in with inflammatory breast cancer which required "regular" chemo, high dose chemo with a stem cell transplant and 35 radiation treatments. I did return to work for a few months, and then retired in 2000. Don and I have enjoyed great trips since retirement. He had been a potter and still does a little work in his studio. My son Dirk is a systems engineer for HOneywell ,has been married 33 years this year, has a son Tyler,28, who is married and just left the army after 9 years and has produced our first great-grandchild, a son Randy who is ,26, who is married, graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and works for Tesla,, and a daughter Rebekah, who is 20, and trying to figure out what to do with her life..
