About Me	I'm an artist, a graphic designer, a husband for 24 years and a father for 20 years. I'm an author of short fiction and plays, and two novels. I write suspense fiction, suspense non-fiction and thrillers. I'm a twenty-five-time award-winning author of short fiction and plays, including four Best of Issue awards in the 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003 editions of the South Carolina Writers Workshop anthology. Five of my short stories won the South Carolina Carrie McCray Literary Award for Best Short Fiction. My short story, House of Ruth won 4th place out of 11,800 entries in the 80th Annual Writers Digest International Writing Competition in 2011 and placed 28th out of 19,000 entries in the 76th Annual Writers Digest Writing Competition in 2007. My novel, The Spectrum Conspiracy, won the Carrie McCray award for best first chapter and it placed as a short-list finalist in the William Faulkner Writing Competition in 2010, 2011 and 2012. I was on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Writers Workshop for six years and served as Vice-President of the southeast chapter of the Mystery Writers of America from 2000 until 2005. I work professionally as an advertising designer and have won two national design awards, the printing industry's PICA award, and the Scholastic Arts Gold Key Award. My writing career began in 1998 when I completed my first novel, a 226,000-word unpublished manuscript, which taught me how to type and finish a major work.
