| About Me | Life is so beautiful if you stay in the flow... I once was a music composition major at Portland State University... I was a decent composer, a decent student, with deep passion for composing. This desire and passion grew more tired, pedantic, lack luster and less emotional as school progressed forward. I didn't take an active enough role in the direction of my education or stand up for my ideas enough, and lost my strong passion for composing, I did retain a strong desire for the theory of it, but my compositions, to me, became mediocre. Decent and mediocre aren't enough to sustain ones interest and build a life around it. I owned a Web Business from 2011 - 2014 where I did all the coding. I was lucky enough to work with Dylan Brody on my first project to build his website. I am really proud of that project and found great joy in getting to know one of my favorite writers alive today. ( http://www.dylanbrody.com/ ) My entire life I have been fascinated with psychology and sociology. The classes that made the largest impact on my life were always in these areas... So I have recently decided to finish my first Bachelors in Liberal Studies at PSU and then attend Pacifica Graduate Institute to attain my Masters in Counseling Psychology. I am particularly interested in Neuroplasticity and Neuroscience. Much of my personal time is spent reading books like Mindsight- By Dr. Dan Siegel, The Emotional Life of the Brain - by Richard Davidson and other books about psychology and how it relates and/or is influenced by the brain's formation during early childhood. I have a passionate interest in helping families and individual reconcile their life shift when they depart from a traditional belief or religion. I desperately want to help families stay close, heal and repair after a departure from what was expected or anticipated to be their life trajectory. Helping to free individuals and families from shaming, guilt and incu...(read more) |
