About Me	Just after graduation I began work as a fireman with the U.S. Forest Service for 4+ fire seasons. Hired by the Oakland Fire Department and married Sherri Gartner in 1974. Sherri and I have a son 32, a daughter 31, and a grandaughter (14 months). I was injured at a fire in East Oakland and permanently disabled. I retired as a Captain in 1990. Took the position as lead instructor of the fire program at College of the Siskiyous in Weed, CA. Retired from there in 2008, but continue to teach as an adjunct. This October, 2010, ...(read more)
