| About Me | Wow! Has it really been 40 years? After graduating from UC Berkeley in 1974, I was recruited by American Hospital Supply Corporation and moved to the home town of Jack Benny (Waukegan, Illinois). I met my current, and only wife, Suzanne, on a blind date and we were married in 1976. (That's 34 years of marriage for those who don't have their calculators handy.) In 1978, we relocated back to the Bay Area from Chicago and I worked for Itel Corporation in San Francisco for a year before joining my current employer, Xerox Corporation in 1979. During the various relocations, my wife, Suzanne, has been a role model "Mom", dealing with the everyday, all day, adolescent challenges that parents are blessed with. Our daughter, Kate, is 26 yrs old and an elementary teacher in Plainfield, Illinois. Our son, Robert, is 23 yrs. old and is a dept. manager at Dick's Sporting Goods in Oswego, Illinois. He is a part time police officer and is currently on the "wait list" as a candidate to attend the Las Vegas Police Academy. The last member of our family is my 6 year old Black Labrador, Murphy. Oh, he’s a great deterrent to door-to-door solicitors….just let him outside when you see someone walking through the neighborhood. ïŠ My joys in life, besides my family, include cooking, gardening and fishing. With the exception of 2 years during the past 14 years, my brother (a retired Oakland Fire Battalion Chief) and I travel to British Columbia each year with a group of other firemen and fish for salmon and halibut. It's a beautiful, ...(read more) |
