About Me	John C. Larrance was the resident production manager and lighting designer of the St. Lawrence University theatres. John has worked all over the country as scenic designer or technical director in numerous theatres in New York, Vermont and Virginia as well as in theatres in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and even Canada. John has also worked in film, television and commercials. His first love is teaching. His success is in the product: his students. John has numerous students that are successful in the field of entertainment including theatre technicians, film producers, gaffers, Broadway lighting designers, Lort Theatre designers (scenic and lighting) and production managers. Many students also take their knowledge and experiences in technical theatre and apply it to related fields. Several John’s former students own and run their own construction companies. John has worked with many celebrities over the years such as Kirk Douglas, Viggo Mortensen, Angie Everhard, Joann Woodward and many others. His lighting designers were responsible for the intelligent lights used in “The Lion King” and “Spider Man”on Broadway. John retired from St. Lawrence University in May 2011 and is now head ME for Ogdensburg Command Performances as well as doing consulting and free lance design work and sailing his Hobie 18 SX whenever he has time. John has been married to his wife Anneke Since 1969. Anneke is the director of Associated Colleges for the St. Lawrence Valley. They have two children and three grand children.
