| About Me | I am a 55 year old christian Mother of 1, Mom of 6, and Nana of 9. I love my God and ALL of my children and grandchildren with ALL my heart and soul. I am a single, biological Mother of 1 son - Joshua - Age 30. Joshua is married to a wonderful woman named Valerie and the 2 of them and my 3 grandbabies, Jacob, Sydnee & my newest grandson - Benjamin Maximus Fortner, live in Dundalk. They also have my grand puppy Ghost and my grandkitty Gracie. I helped to raise my life partner’s 3 children - Chris, Maggie and Becky, who are now grown adults AND I am currently raising my nephew Dominick who is 13 and my grandson Corey who is 6! I stay very busy with my boys - who have a better social life than I have ever had! I also helped to raise my niece/Goddaughter Nicole who is 30 years old and CHOOSES to call me her Mom. Hopefully one day, Niki will be free to join our family full time. I have a total of 9 wonderful children who call me their Nana: Alaina - 11, Kayli - 10, Makayla - 7, Jacob - 7, Corey - 6, Sydnee - 4, Kiera - almost 2years old, Benjamin - 18 months and Shaun who is spending his 13th year in heaven with Jesus and His angels. I worked for C&P Telephone/Bell Atlantic/Verizon for 32 years. I have lived in Essex, most of my adult life. I was raised as an only child by Sidney and Mabel Fortner - they adopted me when I was 8 days old! No one could have asked for better parents. I miss both of them more and more every day. You never know or understand the love and support you have, until it is no longer there. I would give anything I have to have them back with me and be able to tell them how much I love them and how thankful I am for them choosing me. I also met my biological mother when I was 21 - Joyce Elizabeth Swartz- Cuffley-Schmuff. By meeting her, a whole new life was opened up to me - a life that included 2 brothers and I was told, 2 sisters. Facebook has helped me finally connect with my 2 biological sisters - Margie and Shelly. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to get to know them. My biological father was already deceased when I was made aware of my adoption. I also met both of my brothers; unfortunately, the relationship with my brothers did not last. My older brother Michael is living a life of drugs and crime in Missouri. My younger brother Bunky, who lives in Pasadena, Maryland, has chosen to not have a relationship with me.
