About Me	Four (4) years in the U.S. Army, as a member of the Presidential Support Unit, operating out of Homestead Air Force Base, Homestead, Florida. DUTIES - Two (2) years as a member of the Protection Detail for President Richard M. Nixon, Key Biscayne, Florida Presidential Compound (Winter Whitehouse); Two (2) years as a member of the Presidential Honor Guard; Honorably Discharged as Sergeant - E5; Following my discharge, I transitioned from the Military into the Oil Patch for Two (2) plus years as a Roughneck, working on both land-based and offshore drilling rigs. Along the way (in 1979), I met and married the love of my life... Terri D. Hatfield (Southside Graduate, class of 1972). We relocated to, and established ourselves in Denver, CO... both enjoying lengthy careers as Petroleum Landmen, operating as Independent Contractors, Lease/Title Brokers, and In-house Landmen, operating as owners and partners of Back Forty Petroleum, LLC. I took a "Midlife Crisis" break in 1991... traveling to Northern Ontario, Canada, and completing an Internship program under a Industry Legend, Pat Wolf, a true Scandinavian Log Master. I left Canada for Summit County, Colorado where I built a number of Handcrafted Log Homes in Keystone, Vail, Breckenridge and Frisco... and One (1) on the Norfork River, in N/Central Arkansas, just south of Mountain Home. I evolved my skills into designing and creating custom, handcrafted Log Furniture, Natural Log Stairs/Railings, and repairing Handcrafted Log Homes. I was absolutely passionate about working with Logs, and I pursued this path until our savings were near depleted... then I put down the Chainsaw, and back to the Oil Patch I went. We are presently in the process of retiring, following Forty (40) years in the Oil & Gas Industry... to begin the next chapter in our lives as the owners, developers and operators of "Free-Range Hemp Farms", in Carroll County, AR., just South of Eureka Springs. We plan to live-out our remaining years at our remote, Lake Home on the Eastern shore of Beaver ...(read more)
