Then BA in English and MA in geography at U. of Washington. Go Dawgs! Five years at Oregon Health Sciences University, then to Vancouver, B.C., to work on a doctorate. Married a second time, became a Canadian citizen, divorced. 13 years later, moved to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands for 7 years. Became a journalist, freelance writer, magazine editor, university professor of English and journalism. Moved to Northern California to be close to grandkids.
