About Me	Simon and I and our dog, Heidi, have been back from France for more than five years now; it is nuttier and less manageable than ever, and with the globalist Tories in charge...well, we need a bolt hole. We may end up moving to Ireland, where I have citizenship, next year if we cannot find a totally non-globalist bolt hole that will accept foreigners. I have worked as a freelance journalist and book author since the early 1970s, with at least 3,500 magazine articles published and 14 books under three pen names (Laura Harrison McBride, Bryce Webster and Nicky McBride), most issued by major US publishers. I am a member of the Society of Authors in the UK, where I lived until Oct. 2017 and then the year in France. I am also an artist, specializing in portraits and illustration. And I owned an advertising agency in South Florida which won several Addy Awards; I have personally won Virginia Press Association First Place Awards and several additional journalism awards. I taught riding (English) for several years as a semi-hobby; my retired show horse has died, after living with a friend in the US, as he was too old to safely move with me to the UK 11 years ago, and then to France and back. I am married to a British man I met in the States; he is an international telecoms technical design engineer. He has a daughter, whom I love dearly, as well as her husband and three children.
