About Me	Married Diane (Halley-1964) Kiper. Married over 50 years and we are still madly in love. 26 years as an Infantry, Ranger, Paratrooper, Military Freefall, and Special Forces officer. Wounded in Vietnam. Have a total of 95 parachute jumps including military freefall jumps from 18,000 feet. Wrote two books on American Civil War. Went to Afghanistan in 2002 and wrote book on the first seven months of the war. Latest book is on the Korean War. Also published 17 articles in history journals. Was an analyst at the Army Counterinsurgency Center to deal with doctrine and lessons of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Taught military history at West Point and the Army Command and General Staff College. Adjunct history professor at local community college. We have lived in Germany, Hawaii, and seven other states. We have traveled throughout Europe, China, Russia, Ukraine. In Army traveled to Vietnam, Korea, Panama, Afghanistan, Qatar, UK,Germany. Was a Kansas delegate to the...(read more)
