About Me	Right after graduating from H.S. my family decided to move to Chapel Hill, NC, where I stayed about a year and a half working different jobs waiting for my mission papers. I waited that long because they got lost in the mail 2 unbelievably times. How lucky, hah? When my papers finally arrived, the First Presidency (Monson as First Counselor) said that if I wanted to go on a mission, I had to go back to my ancestral country. So, even though I was born in Caracas, Venezuela my family is from Bogotá, Colombia. After 3 months, I made up my mind. First, I went on vacation to Florida with my brother for 9 really cool days. We rented a car and started our "Road Trip" from NC to FL. We stopped at every place we could. We went to the Theme Parks (Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Bush Gardens). We stayed in Orlando and Tampa, went to the beach, etc. It was great! Then, I arrived to Bogotá in August 28, 2002. I had to start my mission papers over again and guess what? My mission papers got lost 2 times again and my church membership card or whatever you call it got lost too and ended up in Dominican Republic. Now, how lucky is that? It's like things weren't meant to be. When my mission papers finally arrived, I was getting sent to Sao Paulo, Brazil (I taught myself Portuguese after HS). That's when I decided not to go on mission and get ready to get married to a beautiful girl I met at church. I know, it was a stupid decision... Well, turns out everything went from bad to worse and this girl left me for some other guy in the US. So, I had to stay here and cope with that fact. At the beginning, I did not like this country at all. It took me 3 long months to find my first job. Then, I started working at an English Institute called "Meyer Institute" where I started teaching English as a Foreign Language and I have been ever since. I met my wife ERIKA there and now I have a 3-year old daughter whom we named AMY. Currently, I work as an Educator at ColomboAmerican School, a private Bi-Lingual School where besides teaching Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science from First to Nineth Grade; I also do a number of other things. I have plans to move out of the country in 3 or 4 more years and teach EFL in Brazil for a year or two, then move to French Canada for some time and continue travelling the world to learn as many languages as I can possible learn in a life time.
