| About Me | I am currently Clinical Research Medical Director, Cardiovascular & Metabolic Therapeutic Area, Global Development at Amgen. Most recently, I was Cardiovascular Medical Director US Medical Organization and US Medical Organization Medical Advocacy Relations Lead, Cardiovascular at Amgen. I am a cardiologist, lipidologist, and hypertension specialist. Prior to joining Amgen in 2014, I was with Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Heart Care in Boise, Idaho. I was Director of Preventive Cardiology and Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, Director of the Lipid Clinic, and Director of the LDL Apheresis Program at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. I also served as Chair of Cardiology at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. In addition, I was the Chair of Cardiovascular Research and Education, Director of the Hypertension Consultation Service and Director of the Carotid Intima-Media Thickness (CIMT) Program at Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Heart Care. My previous experience includes serving as both Director of the Lipid Clinic and Director of Cardiovascular Outpatient and Outreach Programs at the University of Iowa and Director of Cardiac Care and the Coronary Care Unit at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa. I was also Medical Director of Preventive Cardiology, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, the Lipid Clinic and Prevention Center at the Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield, Illinois. I received my medical degree Cum Laude from Harvard Medical School. At Harvard, I received the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Merit Scholar Award. I completed my residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at the University of California, Los Angeles. I was a Research Fellow in the cardiac unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital. I went on to complete a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
