About Me	I grew up in a sweet American small town named Mishawaka, Indiana. My parents moved to the east coast soon after I graduated from High School and left for college so I lost my home town. I attended a small liberal arts mens college named Wabash and graduated with very few credentials. I could have been a better student. I owed money and couldn't afford or see the importance of further education. Floundered in industry - manual labor, industrial sales and support - a decade was lost in confusion, doing things I was not good at; pursuing false hopes and dreams. Moved to New York City and learned computer programming. I enjoyed it and was good at it; who knew you could make a living writing computer software. Met Lynda, got married and started family. Moved to England. Lynda's family lived in Cardiff, Wales - we lived outside High Wycombe, midway between London and Oxford. Little contact with America for a long time. I'm a naturalized British citizen, but never an Anglophile. I was always an American in Britain. The internet came and the world got smaller. Suddenly, I could contact people from my home and my college; I could find news of the Indianapolis 500. I could follow the demise of Notre Dame football. I travelled a lot, perhaps too much. I was away too often when my sons were young. I enjoyed my work and it took me to a lot of interesting places. I had to support the family; I had to bring in the bacon. It's easy to lose perspective. Distance makes the heart grow fonder. I developed a deeper appreciation for many aspects of America while in Britain. Americans don't give up. Americans yearn to be good, to have merit, to be effective, to be successful. Americans are not easily satisfied and appreciate independence. Eventually, it was time to move back. I wanted my children to know America too. I missed Thanksgiving and college football. I wanted to go out for breakfast and to be able to find good Ice Cream. We selected Chapel Hill, North Carolina as a nice place to live, packed up and sold our house in England and moved to a small log cabin outside of town. After an initial rough patch and a couple hiccups, I found a good job. Chapel Hill is a college town and has that academic feel to it. We enjoy the entertainments on Franklin Street and Carrboro.
