Former Major League Baseball pitcher (New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals) and coach. Pitching coach for World Series Champion Toronto Blue Jays in 1992-93. Galen Cisco was also co-captain and fullback for Ohio State's 1957 national collegiate football champs.[10]

Not only did he leave a legacy on the baseball diamond, but he also co-captained the 1957 Ohio State Buckeyes football team, which won the national championship. On the baseball field, his career record for Ohio State was an impressive 12-2.

As a Major League Baseball player, Cisco debuted with the Boston Red Sox in June 1961. His career spanned multiple teams, including the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals. He earned a reputation as a curveball specialist and despite being part of the Mets team with a record loss in a single season in 1962, he managed to post a .500 record in his late-season appearances. His overall statistics include a win-loss record of 25-56, an earned run average of 4.56, and 325 strikeouts.

After hanging up his cleats in 1969, Cisco transitioned to a successful career as a pitching coach, including stints with the Royals, Montreal Expos, San Diego Padres, Toronto Blue Jays, and Philadelphia Phillies. His most notable achievements came during his six seasons with the Blue Jays. Under his guidance, the team won three consecutive American League East Division titles and two World Series Championships in 1992 and 1993.
