About Me	I served my country as a Military Police Women in the United States Army stateside and overseas. I am a community activist, mother, grandmother, and a former foster mother born and raised in Buffalo, New York. The first female in my family to join the military, I followed in the footsteps of my father, a United States World War II Army Veteran and my brother a United States Air force Viet-Nam Veteran. My military service began in the spring of 1976 at age 23, following the Vietnam War - the delayed entry program of the regular Army, United States Woman’s Army Corps (USWAC). At 26 years of age, I completed my final tour of duty and received an Honorable Discharge from the Department of the Army and returned to my hometown of Buffalo, New York. I also returned to Buffalo State College and completed my Bachelor and Master Degrees with the assistance of the Vietnam Era GI Bill (Chapter 34). My post military experiences have offered an array of opportunities, especially with Veterans. For example, I served as the former and first female Commander of the Jesse Clipper Post No. 430 American Legion in its 83 year history. The Jesse Clipper Post No. 430 is named after the first African American Soldier (James W. Clipper) to die in World War I that was from Buffalo, New York. I am also the former president of the Bennett-Wells American Legion Post No. 1780 Auxiliary. The Bennett-Wells American Legion Post No. 1780 is named after the first two African American soldiers from Buffalo that were killed during World War II, Private James Bennett and Second Lieutenant Johnson C. Wells. Prior to these elected positions, I was appointed to several committee chairperson positions within the Bennett-Wells American Legion Post No. 1780, and it’s Auxiliary, all in my first year of membership. Outside of the post, I was a former mentor for the Honorable Judge Russell’s Veteran’s Court, the first Veterans’ Court in the nation and a volunteer for Kids Time Group Family Day Care which is owned by my son Cornelius Stewart. As a former International Professional Lady Wrestler, known as Sheena the VooDoo Queen from deep dark Africa, I have not only entertained audiences while in the wrestling ring across the United States and Canada, there were also times when I had the privilege to participate in various other activities such as a fund-raiser for handicapped children at a restaurant called "Pastels" in Brooklyn, New York sponsored by Community Mayors of New York State and a Fabulous International Wrestling Tour in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, and Kota Baru, Malaysia, taking part in the Asian Pacific Wrestling Championship. I’ve also had the privilege of giving various wrestling interviews on national and International television, radio, newspapers and magazines as the only Black lady International Professional Wrestler from Buffalo, New York. Even though my life has been wonderful I also have had my share of pain. I lost Pamela, my six year old daughter due to illness and later I lost my 24 year old son Kenneth to suicide. Because of the love and loss of two of my three children and providing child care for my only living child’s daycare I have had the opportunity to provided grief training to child care providers to address grief issues of young children. I am also developing a television show called “I Remember You” to provide a safe avenue that people will be able to share memories of deceased loved ones. I have been recognized on local and national levels for my volunteer efforts. In February 2012 I was a recipient of the President's Volunteer Service Award from the first Black President of the United States Barack Obama. I see no limit to my service to my community and on March 1, 2012 along with a core group of Veterans we received the Post Charter for the new AMVETS (American Veterans) Post, the Johnetta R.
