| About Me | Since Mayo, I attended Macalester College in St. Paul. I received my BA in Political Science in 1974. Following graduation from college, I attended Stanford Law School in Palo Alto, California. I received my JD in 1977. After graduation from law school, I got married and moved to Orange County, California. I specialized in environmental law, representing high tech firms focused on air quality, and worked closely with the California Air Resources Board and the South Coast Air Quality Management District to improve air quality in Southern California. I also drafted several environmental initiatives for Arizona, California, Missouri, Texas, and the US EPA that later became law. In 2002, I was elected to the Orange County Superior Court. I am now in my 20th year, and preside over a trial court calendar in Newport Beach. These days I am thinking about retirement! I am married to Susan and have a grown daughter, Brooke, a clinical psychologist who lives with her husband, Todd, a software engineer, in San Francisco.
