What is Eddie Hinton known for?

Eddie Hinton, born on June 26, 1947, in Lawton, Oklahoma, U.S., is a former professional American football player notable for being a brilliant wide receiver. He is an alumnus of Lawton High School in Lawton, Iowa, and further honed his sports skills playing college football for the Oklahoma Sooners.

In his career, Hinton played six seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted in the first round, pick 25, in 1969 by the Baltimore Colts and served them from 1969 to 1972. Afterwards, he moved to the Houston Oilers in 1973, and later joined the New England Patriots in 1974.

During his football tenure, Hinton achieved career stats that include 1,822 receiving yards, 111 receptions, and 10 receiving touchdowns. He also made 12 rush attempts, covering 110 rushing yards. The highlight of his career was becoming a Super Bowl champion (Super Bowl V) while playing for the Baltimore Colts.

Currently, Hinton lives just outside San Antonio, Texas. After retiring from professional football, he served his local community as a school bus driver for both Comal ISD and New Braunfels ISD.
