Dewell Brewer, born on May 22, 1970, in Lawton, Oklahoma, is a notable alumni of Lawton High School. He is best recognized as a former American football running back, most prominently associated with his season playing for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League (NFL).

Brewer's journey to the NFL began at Lawton High School, proceeding to the University of Oklahoma, where he played college football. Despite being undrafted in 1993, Brewer's determination led him to make it a professional career in American football. His career history includes playing for the Chicago Bears in 1993, although it was in an offseason and/or practice squad capacity.

The significant highlight of his career came in 1994 with the Indianapolis Colts. After a year with the Colts, Brewer was also a member of the Carolina Panthers in 1995.
