About Me	I am currently a staff member at the University of Texas at El Paso, and I love working in Academia. At some point, I may try to get my PhD, but am still unsure about when or if I will do so. I have other goals that take precedence over becoming "Dr. Ruth," so we will see what doors God opens for me. My faith is very important to me, and I am a devout Catholic who was raised protestant. Whenever I can, I spend time in Adoration and go to Mass. I also love hiking, running, and swimming, and try to do all three on a regular basis. I ran my first half-marathon in February, 2013, and plan to run my first marathon in October, 2013, so I won't be hiking as much as I have in the past, but I can handle that. I am also currently planning on walking the last 300 miles of the Way of St. James at the Beginning of September. I wanted to walk all 500 miles, but it worked better with my job to go earlier and for a shorter distance. I'm not sure what that will do for my Marathon training, but I'm still really excited about everything that will be happening in the next few months. Doing all of these things will complete several of the items on my "bucket list," for which I am very thankful. I am currently living with my adult niece as well as 2 cats and a dog. Only one of the cats and the dog is mine, but Amber's cat is also sweet. My dog Ginger also likes running and hiking, and she is hilarious when she realizes that I'm going to be doing one of these things.
