About Me	Mike is a meteorologist and Earth Science instructor, working in Central CA, an author of 2 American Meteorological Society Journal articles and father of Winter and Tristan. Let's see, I used to be an amateur competitive figure skater which not many people know....after high school I went away to college, dropped out of college, joined the military, left early after being stationed in Hawaii, moved back to CA, spent a few months homeless and penniless (literally), picked myself up, worked my way up, moved to Boston, moved back to CA, went back to college at San Jose State University, graduated with a degree in Meteorology, worked towards my Masters in Meteorology, joined a truly awful company where I felt stuck and depressed, changed everything, and landed a great job forecasting at Vandenberg Air Force Base in central CA. I recently completed all coursework related to earning a teaching credential and have begun completing my Master's in Education classes (4 more to go!). After 6 years of working in Meteorology, I left in search of a more challenging and fulfilling opportunity, and start teaching Earth Science at Pioneer Valley High School in January. I have two children....Winter and Tristan, and am married. I run everyday and average 102 miles per week, which sounds insane, but it's true!. I used to play ice hockey, but shattered my wrist in 2006, so now I'm looking forward to teaching the sport to my son when he is of age. Similarly, I plan to teach my daug...(read more)
