About Me	Happy moments, praise God. Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God. Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God. I grew up in Marcellus NY, spent my summers and holidays at my Grandparents home in Skaneateles NY and moved to Henrietta NY in 1980. After high school (1986) I went to Eastern College in PA and in 1990 received a Bachelor Degree in Social Work. Soon after, I pursued a dream to live in the mountains and went to Utah for five years. I worked for Marriott Food Service at Weber State, youth on probation and then as counselor in mental health. I had lots of fun and several misadventures exploring the mountains, rivers, lakes and canyons of the wild West in my little red Toyota pickup truck with my black lab, Daisy. In 1995 I was thinking that I would move up to Seattle where I have family but my father became ill with terminal cancer. So I went to Miami to be with him in his last years. We restored our relationship and I was with him until the end. I stayed for another year or two working with youth in foster care. On a vacation trip to Utah and Idaho I met my husband - Dan. We had a long distance courtship for 8 months and then he traveled to Florida to bring me back to Idaho. He flew across the country with a box of long stem roses on his lap and proposed to me in the airport stating it would not be "proper" for us to travel together (taking a month to drive) without "a ring and promise." Although I had intended to just start dating him and get to know him better in the "real" world we were married on our island in the horse pasture by the Snake River 4 months later October 10th 1999. Since then it has been a blissful whirlwind. We live SW of Boise on the Snake River outside of a small rural community. We have been blessed with two children; Daniel in 2002 and then Ellie in 2006. We have had our share of heartaches, mishaps and stressful moments/years but God has been faithful in providing for our needs and giving us the wisdom and strength to endure life and the day to day struggles of parenthood and marriage. Most days I am off working at Hope House, a home for children from disrupted adoptions. I am blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with the kids playing games, reading, coloring, playing dress up etc. I also try to walk, catch up on yard/garden work, and in the summer go camping in the Owyhee Mountains. (did I mention I also spend a lot of time breaking up sibling squabbles, wiping runny noses, finding lost lambies, fixing broken power rangers etc.,) You can also find me solving the world's problems on the couch with Dan, or praying for others, or at our Ladies Bible Study & other church activities, or online surfing, on facebook, chatting etc, or vegin out watching movies or mindless TV (Lost is our favorite) and many times we get together with friends and family to laugh, love, eat and have fun. Dan is a gun guy, car nut, mountain man who put these hobbies aside [for the most part] and is the greatest Dad and husband. He loves the Lord and puts others before himself. He is a nonstop talker like me and will give you an earful about most anything but his favorite topics include history, politics and spiritual matters. He is a jack of all trades but due to health problems he is home taking care of the entire house, cars and yard chores and homeschooling Daniel and Ellie full time. I hope for my future to first serve the Lord with all my heart, then to be a loving and devoted wife (that only nags a few times a week), and then to bring up my children to love the Lord and to have a personal relationship with Him, and to alwa...(read more)
