| About Me | After High School I spent 2 yrs at Buff State before transferring to UT Austin where I got a degree in education of the visually impaired. A few years later I married my husband Solly, an optometrist who grew up in Jhb. South Africa. We have lived in CA for 35 years. I entered politics 20 years ago and served as a Councilmember and Mayor in Irvine CA for 16 years. We have confronted challenges including the death of our son Noah in 2009. My husband also is disabled. Despite all we continue to count our blessings and are very proud of our daughter Abby, a marriage and family therapist and our son, Hershel who works at a private school.
