| About Me | My parents divorced in Oct. 1967, and we moved to New Jersey in the middle of my senior year while at Gardner. We moved to Bayonne, NJ , and graduated with a class of more than 650 senior class, almost all of whom I did not know. My uncle worked for the New York educational TV station and within a week of moving out of Gardner, I was working in New York City were he got me a part time job, with the potential for a career in television. So, I was (mis) guided to go into electronics by my new high school counselor because of the job my uncle had procured for me at WNET-TV in New York. With the turmoil of moving to New Jersey, my parents divorce, and going to a new high school in the middle of my senior year, I bombed my grades the rest of senior year, and, probably only passed based on the grades I was getting while in school at Gardner. this carried on for another year and a half while in college until a college counselor saved me and got me going in the right direction. My sports life changed for me one day during football practice my junior year at Gardner's football practice field when another player fell on my right knee injuring me. I had always wanted to stay in and around sports ,however I knew I'd never be or play at the same level ever again. to make a long story short , I got into Phys ED and Athletic Training. I got married in 1974, had three kids ,a girl and two boys. My wife had a very rare cancer in 1983 , was treated at the National Cancer Institute and is doing well to this day. Marriage responsibilities , kids ,cancer put delays in achieving my dream to become an athletic trainer. I persisted , and in 1988 I attained my degree , my certification, and began my new career at Point Pleasant Borough High School for the next nearly 27 years. My two oldest children are married. My daughter, the oldest child is a teacher and has 2 children -- a girl , 13 , and a boy, 5. My next child, a boy . has a Doctorate in Archaeology, and i a professor at at university near San Diego. My third child has an associate in business, a bachelors in business , and another bachelors i Sustainability Science. he works in a business associated with the work he studied in college, and is enjoying successes in his life as well. since we left Gardner, there's not a day that I not think of my life and friends there , as well as wonder how all your lives had turned out. I hope for all of you y...(read more) |
