| About Me | Check my BIO: I made it in the National Rocking Roll Hall of Fame In (2009) and (2012) 3 times.In (2011): This Book ( Garage Bands From the 60!s Then and Now) was inducted in the (National Rocking Roll Hall of Fame, in the Library Museum Division in Cleveland Ohio) In the (1966 photo shoot) Stanley & the Four Fendermen is on the Cover of this Book I am right next to the man in the suit (Bill Quarry) on his right. Stanley & the Four Fendermen was also featured in this Book This Book is the second edition of the (Greatest Bands that came out of the San Francisco Bay area during the 60s.) My name is Robert Paul Manning: I started my music journey when i was in the 2nd grade when I started to play the trumpet . From the 2nd grade to the 5th grade I competed in my grade level playing trumpet in the California Oakland East Bay Music Awards . For 4 years I came in first place, 4 years in a row . Nobody could beat me I was told by Music Teachers and Judges they never heard anybody play like me. I could Double and Triple Tongue the Trumpet by the third grade .Then in the 5th grade tragedy struck I contracted lip Cancer, my Trumpet days were through I was crushed. Then in the 6th grade I picked up the Drums. I liked it and I!ve been drumming ever since for about 50 years. During that time I!ve recorded - 1 Commercial (The First Gap Commercial for Radio) - 3 singles - 1 Album. Recorded in 7 Studios - Different Furs - Sierra Sound – Fantasy – CBS - Coast Recordings - Century recordings - and Mercury Records. I Backed up Recorded or Played on Concerts with (Richard "Dimples" Fields - Rodger Collins - The Yardbirds (jeff beck-jimmy page of Led Zeppelin fame) - The Doors (Jim Morrison) - Creedence Clear Water (John Fogerty) – Mike Clifford - Them (Van Morrison) - Chocolate Watchband - The Syndicate of Sound - The Vejetables - The Seeds - Sopwith Camel - The Grass Roots - Quicksliver Messenger Service - The Standells - The Leaves – The Turtles - The Mojo Men - Bobby Fuller Four – The Beau Bremmels - Eddie money - Sal Carson big jazz band - Bobby Freeman - The Olympics - Julie Atkins - Dock Severson (From Johnny Carson Tonight Show) - The wittington Sisters - Vernon Garrett - Marvon Holmes - Eugene Blacknell – Dick & Dee Dee - The Tower of Power. In fact I did a 60s Renioun Concert Sept. 9 2007 with the Tower of Power with me and my friend Danas Band (The Peter Wheat Fendermen Band.) I have done hundreds and hunderds of drum solos live in my career. The last 12 years I have had 3 Eperial Dermal Spinal Injections in my Back. I have Degerative Spine Disease.
