About Me	I'm a second generation Italian-American and an urban dweller who feels most comfortable being in the middle of everything. I moved to San Francisco in 1974 with my 9-month old baby. During my time there, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Administration. I also met and married my life partner, Ken Nielsen. 2024 marks our 45th wedding anniversary. Now retired, I spent 25 years as a university administrator with the University of San Francisco (USF) and then with San Diego State University (SDSU). I served as the Assistant to the Dean for the College of Arts & Sciences at USF before joining SDSU’s College of Business Administration (CBA). At SDSU, I managed and administered the programs of the Center for Community Economic Development and had the honor of working with civil rights leader, Hal Brown. This was my dream job and I will also be grateful that Hal hired me! Additionally, I spent 10 years in destination marketing with the San Diego Tourism Authority, where I had the time of my life learning all about San Diego. Christ is central to all that I am and all that I do. Beyond my daily faith walk, I have enthusiastically served in various capacities in churches and nonprofit organizations. From nursery duty to finance committee chair and from director of the board of Christian education to head usher, I have been involved in many aspects of church life.
