| About Me | I was born on the morning of February 29, 1956 to Janelle and Don January. I have two older sisters, Donita and Dedra. I grew up in Costa Mesa,CA living in a single house on State Avenue. I attended Wilson Elementary, Canyon Elementary, Rea Intermediate and Estancia High Schools. After hight school I attended OCC for Dental Assisting. graduating in 1978. In the mean time, I had worked a full time job and dated . I also competed in the Miss Costa Mesa contest in 1975 and 1976. I returned to church about that time, and met my late husband of 43 years in Huntington Beach at church. We have two wonderful kids. Chris is 40 y/o and Krystal is 38 y/o. He has served in the USAF for 6 years and is currently an officer in the Army . Krystal is living in SD. She works with children, is a wonderful teacher. We moved to San Luis Obispo to raise our kids in 1990 and lived there for 13 years. I was offered a job there after graduating from Ultrasound school in 1990. Was a nice environment to raise the kids, however it was a difficult place to find work. That is why I started Temporary Agencies. My job sent me all over the nation, and in 2004, I was offered a job in the Valley. That is how we ended up in Madera (near Fresno). After my husband passed away in 2021, I then relocated to South Dakota to be near my daughter! I found a wonderful man and we married in 2025. I moved to his house in SC. In 2008 my 1st husband and I had learned to quilt. Yes, he was a quilter too. He, being an engineer by trade, was great at figuring how to measure and cut the pieces and I was happy doing most of the sewing. Both our Fall and winter quilts won awards at local quilt shows/Fairs. We are working on three more that we hope to enter into quilt shows I lost my mom and dad just 3 months apart in 2003. That is hard when you lose your loved ones. I felt orphaned following the losses. And a few years later we lost my hubby's mother and then his father. I had the greatest in-laws a girl could ever ask for. God Bless all of their souls. Our son was in England 3 of the 6 years while in the Air Force. When he had only one year to go- my daughter was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and wanted her brother home. We wrote a letter and he was transfered to Tuscon ,Az. Following her surgery and treatment, she had some trouble with her vocal cords and lost her voice for several months. The surgery was a little more difficult than expected and the cords were traumatized. She did recovery, fully. At that time she wanted to go to Tuscon and live with her brother. And as we get older, we all start to fall apart. At least it feels that way. Randy (my hubby) had rt hip replacement in Jan 2011. My right shoulder is having problems, after doing Ultrasound for almost 30 years. It is 2026, I am a newlywed and very happy! I’ve never lived in the south! It’s taking some adjusting! Happy new year t...(read more) |
