| Favorite School Memory | During our senior year when the concert band went on tour and the senior boys all roomed together in one large motel room. While we kept it clean and stayed out of trouble, we still managed to have a lot of fun almost all night long. The next morning Mr. Floyd Farmer, the band director, showed to borrow after shave lotion from one of us since he'd forgotten his. It seemed really funny at the time. | About Me | I went straight to Murray where I thought I could continue to be in band "just for fun." It turned out it was too much work, too much time and not enough credit for someone who was not a music major. I actually graduated in just one summer over 4 years. A week later I married Pam Miller and we've been together now for 38 years. After she graduated in Dec., we moved to Nashville where I went to work for an oil company for which I had operated service stations while in school. After about six months, an offer came through from the IRS for a tax auditor position back in KY and I knew the oil co. wouldn't compete with the salary, so we moved back to KY, settling in Paducah where I've been ever since. Two position changes in IRS over the next few years landed me in the Criminal Investigation Division in 1984. Since then I've done some contract work as an investigator for the Inspector General's Office of the Tennessee Valley Authority and as a Litigation Consultant for the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Kentucky. But, mostly, I'm actually kinda enjoying being a "house husband," taking care of domestic needs while my school teacher wife works toward her eventual retirement. In retirement, I've found that I'm also enjoying re-connecting with...(read more) |
