| About Me | After school I married George Middleton and moved to the Boston area. I helped George as he was a full-time youth pastor. We then moved to Danville, Quebec with our 2 year old son, where he pastored a small English speaking church for 5 years. Seth was born in Quebec. We moved to Crouseville, ME and George pastored there for 6 years. I have been the church secretary, youth group leader, Bible study teacher/leader. We then moved to Massena, NY. I did what I could to be at home when the boys were done with school. I worked full time managing a Christian Bookstore and running a shipping shop and helping in a pool store for almost 10 years. I quit a year ago for a needed change. I am an overcomer of sexual abuse. My victory is through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Since my last update I have companioned two elderly ladies. One I was great friends with and was asked by the family to help. The other lady I knew her daughter and was asked to help. They were special women in my life. I also worked for another small business receiving packages for Canadians, selling memorial stones and receiving people's deceased pets for cremation. In May of 2017, George was approached for a chaplaincy for Meetinghouse Retirement Village in Kittery, ME. This came out of the blue. We had been in Massena for 23 years and had not considered leaving quite yet. After prayer and talking with our sons, George accepted the position. My father passed away during this time. Due to a fall I was not able to make it home for the burial service. The last 3 1/2 months have been a whirl of emotions and physical exhaustion trying to condense a large house with 23 years of living into a small apartment in a short time. We made the move on September 10, 2017. So many people blessed us with their assistance in the move. It has been two weeks to today that we have been here. The first week was spent unpacking boxes. The second week was spent trying to put things in order. My sister Janet, flew out to help. I am not sure what I would have done without her help. The people here are great. Our son Luke, lives 1 1/4 hours away. George has family in the Boston area and in Wells, ME. A whole new life. My role as a very active pastor's wife is no longer. I am not sure what is next for me. I do hope to rest and get my health in better shape. I am looking forward to reading, crocheting/knitting, getting the apartment fixed up, exploring the area, connecting with old friends and making new one, being ...(read more) |
