| About Me | Joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from Clemson University in 1965. Served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps (including Navy Seabees) for 26 years of active duty. Served as a junior officer during three tours of duty in Vietnam and Thailand in the Navy Seabees (1966-68). Retired from the U,S, Navy in 1991 after 29 years of reserve and active duty service as a Navy Captain (0-6). Got married and stayed married to my wife for over 40 years to date. Worked as architect-engineer, director of public services for City of Hapeville, GA; director of Operations & Maintenance Depertment, Facilities Management Division, Emory University, Atlanta, GA; and director of facilities for the Woodruff Arts Center, Atlanta, GA. Project Management, Customer Service Representative, Pickens County Commissioner on jail, fire station and GA state patrol facility. Participated in hurricane relief effrorts after Hurricane Katrina in MS, Hurricane Wilma in Key West, FL, and Hurricane John in Rincon, NM.. for the BE&K Government Group, LLC, Birmingham, AL. Completed work as Project Manager on a $10 million C-130J corrosion control hangar at Little Rock AFB, AR.(2008-09) for the BE&K GG, LLC, A KBR Company. Co-written 5 country songs currently being sung and performed by my son, Eric Geibel, a full-time safety manager for SWIFT Boats Co. in LA and part-time country singer, songwriter, & musician in Berwick, LA. Wrote five family Genealogy books and one comprehensive Military History of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ELEVEN (Seabees - 490 pages) from WW II through Vietnam.
