About Me	I have just retired after 41 a years in education. I started my teaching career in Superior, Wisconisin, teaching first 9th, then 8th grade English at Central Junior High. I was at McCaskill for there years, and then taught 12th grade honors English and Creative Writing at Superior Senior High. I took a leave of absence from Superior to do graduate work at UNC - Chapel Hill, finishing my Masters Tmthe U of M. While finishing my Masters, I and my family lived in LeSuer, Minnesota where we also managed my mother-in-law's motel. I also substitute taught on the LeSueur/Henderson area, coached speech and debate, and was yearbook advisor. From LeSueur, we moved to South St. Paul where I taught English and coached speech and debate. I also taught International Baccalaureat English, and then became coordinator of the International Baccalureate Program. I was a teacher on special assignment with the MDE where I developed the specifications for the State reading test of basic skills. I also worked on the implementation of the Profile of Learning. During this time, I finished up my second Masters and my administrator's licensure program. I did my internship at Chaska Middle School and Chaska Hogh School. I was then hired as an assistant principal at Chaska, which I did for a year, and then moved to the district office to direct the implementation of the State K-12 Graduation standards. After three years in Chaska, I took a position as assistant principal at Stillwater Senior High. I did that for four years and me took the position of Director of Alternative Programming for Stillwater Public Schools for nine years. During that time , I had the opportunity to be a Fulbright exchange administrator with an administrator in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. While ALC Director, I was asked to fill in as the interim Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the district.
