About Me	I attended UW Platteville graduating in 1969 with a BA with double majors in Economic and Political Science. I then attended University of San Diego School of Law, San Diego, CA, where I earned a Juris Doctorate degree in 1974. In 1970 I was drafted into the US Army and spent two years on active duty during the Vietnam era. In 1974 I began my private practice of law and in 1975 began a career with the federal government when I was employed by the Veterans Affairs Department. In 1980, I transferred to the Department of Defense. During the periods 1988 to 1993 and 2000 to 2008, I lived and worked in Wiesbaden, Germany, which permitted me and our family to travel extensively throughout Europe.
