| About Me | I joined the U.S. Army after high school and served on active duty for 6 years, active reserves for 2 1/2 years, and inactive reserves for 6 years. After exiting active duty, I began a second career in nursing. I have been a registered nurse for eight years and have worked in the following specialty areas: cardiology, intensive care, psychiatry, and hospice/palliative care. I currently provide care to terminally-ill patients on a five-bed acute palliative care unit.
