| About Me | Victor Fields is Adjunct Professor of Keyboard Studies, Music Theory and Accompanist at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. In addition, he is the Assistant Music Director and the Staff Accompanist for the Harrisburg Choral Society. He is Director of Music and Organist at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, York and serving his third term as Dean of the York Chapter, American Guild Organists. In June of 2010, he was unanimously selected to be the next Artistic Director for the Central Pennsylvania Womyn’s Chorus. Mr. Fields earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, The Peabody Conservatory of Music and the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. He was the recipient of two full-tuition scholarships from the University of Cincinnati as well as receiving the John Strader organ prize from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory. He also received a graduate scholarship from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University as well as the Frank Hines organ prize from the Peabody Conservatory. In addition, he was the winner of two organ scholarships (Violet Cassel prize) from the Harrisburg AGO Chapter. In 1983, he won the Baltimore AGO Chapter organ playing competition and was a finalist in the Region III AGO organ playing competition. His organ recital engagements include performances at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5th Avenue in New York City and five performances at the Washington National Cathedral. Other recitals include Church of the Presidents, Washington, D.C. repeat engagements at Longwood Gardens, Bruton Parish Church, Colonial Williamsburg, St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Hanover, Grace Methodist Church, Baltimore, the York County Heritage Trust Museum and recitals at historic Old Salem, Winston-Salem, NC, the Allen Organ Co., Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego and the Chautauqua series in Mt. Gretna, PA. He has performed as an organ and piano accompanist in England, France, Spain, Hungary and Yugoslavia and with the Cincinnati International Festival Chorus, the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Choral Department, the Baltimore Symphony Chamber Singers, the York Symphony Chorus, the Williamsport Civic Chorus and various choral and orchestral ensembles throughout the Mid-Atlantic. From 1998-2003 has was the Associate Conductor and Accompanist for the York Oratorio Society. From 1995-2000, he was Artistic Director of the York Symphony Chamber Singers. He has premiered music of British and American composers Andrew Worton-Steward and Charles Callahan and was a featured guest artist on “Desert Island Discs” on WITF-FM Harrisburg public radio.
