| About Me | After 37 years as a teacher, I finally retired in 2005. I spent 29 of those years in the Payson Unified School District…teaching high school, middle school, and elementary school and serving as the Payson High School head track coach and defensive coordinator of the football team. However, 21 of those years were teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade. Thank goodness for small towns. I continued to coach even after retiring from teaching. Many of my track athletes were continuing to compete after graduation and had asked me to train them for Olympic trials and International competitions. In 1988 I started a graphic arts/custom screening business (Gazelle Graphics/Lane 4 Silk screening)…retirement from teaching gave me an opportunity to get a little more involved in its daily operations which I continued until I sold in December of 2011. Retirement did not last long…I was hired as an Educational Technology Consultant for an Education Software company and spent the next seven years traveling throughout Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Connecticut, Nevada, and Northern California installing software and training teachers on how to use the software. On November 1st, 2012…I fully retired from any real job. After a coaching career of 27 years as a head coach and 8 years as an assistant coach…10 state championships and 5 state runners-up and 8 nationally ranked high school track athletes…I was inducted into the Arizona High School Coaches Hall of Fame as a Track Coach in 2011. It was a great honor and one I will always cherish. Our home base continues to be Payson, Arizona…but, two years ago we purchased a 1929 historic home in Caldwell, ID and have spent the past two summers restoring and updating this old home in the Stuenburg Historic District of Caldwell.
