About Me	my daughter astrid was born in 2003. that was the biggest event of my life. i married my wife, maria grahn, in 2000. that was the second biggest event. i have been a law professor for almost twenty years! that has been the adventure of my life. i am currently "the james campbell matthews distinguished professor of jurisprudence" at albany law school. i was professor of law at boston college law school for sixteen years. i've also been "burns chair in civil rights" at cuny school of law. before entering academia, i was a prosecutor in the us attorney's office. i am convinced, as a result of this job, that prison should be abolished. before i became a federal prosecutor i was a corporate lawyer with a wall st. law firm. i earned my JD at harvard law school and my...(read more)
